About Mark Powley

Mark Powley specializes in Chinese ceramics and works of art, with over thirty years of experience in the field.

He began his career in 1993 in the Oriental Department of Spink & Son Ltd, London, one of the world’s leading dealers in Asian art. Since 2000 he has been based in San Francisco, working privately with collectors, institutions, and estates.

Objects are sourced through long-established relationships with private collectors and estates in the United States, Europe, and Asia, as well as through leading international auctions and art fairs. Particular emphasis is placed on quality, authenticity, provenance, and condition.

Areas of interest include Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing ceramics, Chinese glass, snuff bottles, jades, scholar’s objects, textiles, and related works of art.

Mark has exhibited at major Asian art fairs in Hong Kong, New York, and San Francisco, and has served on vetting committees for important international art and antiques fairs.

Collectors, institutions, and estates are welcome to inquire regarding acquisitions, sales, consignments, and collection advice. Viewings are by appointment in San Francisco.
